- Arrive early for your presentation. They like to start promptly at
the announced time. You must attend the entire presentation in
order to interview, so it's better to be a little early than a little late!
- If you are attending the presentation at a school other than
your own, you will most likely interview that night. This means
you need to be prepared. You will want to be dressed business-like, or as you would for any serious
job interview. You will also
need to complete the online application at
www.wdwcollegeprogram.com before attending. Complete
instructions will be given to you at that site.
- Consider bringing a resume and cover letter. Please realize this
is not required, but does show that you are serious, and it gives
the Recruiter a little extra about yourself. Remember, the
Recruiters go through hundreds of applications a week. You
want your application to stand out. Use the cover letter to explain
why you think you are a good candidate for the Program.
- You will be interviewed in groups of 2-4 people. They are
looking to see how you interact with other people, who might be
total strangers, much like your interaction with guest will be in
the parks. Show interest in what the others are saying, and don't
hesitate to ask them questions. Be enthusiasitic, don't wait for
someone else to answer a group question first.
- The interview will usually last about 5-10 minutes. This is
mostly because this will be the maximum amount of time you will
usually spend with a guest. It is important to make an impression
in this short amount of time. It is certainly not necessary to go
deep into your life story.
- Smile and make eye contact. These are perhaps the most
important things to do. Someone that smiles and makes eye
contact while talking or listening seems more approachable and
friendly. The Recuiter has probably worked somewhere in the
parks, so he or she knows exactly what they are looking for.
Good Luck!
