Preparing Tips

- Find a website with a message board and/or chat room where you can meet others who will be participating in the same program. This is the best way to get prepared for the experience of a lifetime.

- If you have a car you are able to bring, strongly consider taking it to Florida. While the provided transportation is rather dependable, it is much more convenient to have your own transportation. But don't worry if you don't have access to a car, with any luck, one or more of your roommates may bring one.

- If you are driving, bring everything you might need for the next 4-6 months. Don't assume your roommates will bring a TV, VCR, or stereo. You can also consider renting a TV if necessary.

- The computer labs in the apartment complexes are great for checking email, typing papers, etc. However, many participants bring their computers or laptops with them. Once again, it is just a little more convenient to have your own.

- If you have a camcorder, bring it! If you don't have a camcorder, definitely bring a camera, or even better, buy disposable cameras.
